What is so important about the fats/oils/fatty acids contained in the product?
Fats and fatty acids make an important contribution to the health of the cat. Fats themselves mainly provide energy. If these are available in excess, they are created as storage fat and make you overweight.
Fats also enable the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K. They isolate and protect organs against the cold and promote the health and well-being of the cat.
Fatty acids are a building block of fats. Cats especially needs two fatty acid—linoleic acid and arachidonic acid. The need for arachidonic acid decreases with age, but especially for kittens up to the eighth month, arachidonic acid is important. An undersupply of these fatty acids will be reflected, for example, in dry skin and dull fur. Arachidonic acid is only found in animal fats, but not in plant food.
There are two types of fatty acids:
Saturated fatty acids
Saturated fatty acids are the most important source of energy. They contain significantly more energy (calories) per unit of weight than proteins or carbohydrates, for example.
The storage fat of mammals consists only of saturated fatty acids, not unsaturated fatty acids.Unsaturated fatty acids
Unsaturated fatty acids perform important tasks in metabolism. For example, they are an important part of the cell walls, promote skin and hair health, suppor vision, lower blood lipids and have a positive effect on the nervous system. The group of unsaturated fatty acids includes the well-known omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which are essential. Essential means that these fatty acids can either not be produced by the body at all or cannot be produced in sufficient quantities and must therefore be ingested with food. These are mandatory since they cannot be replaced by any other nutrient.
Unsaturated fatty acids are mainly contained in cold-pressed oils (e.g. linseed oil, hemp oil, black cumin oil, walnut oil, evening primrose oil, fish oil). There are single and polyunsaturated fatty acids, which can be assessed differently in terms of energy. With polyunsaturated fatty acids, more energy is required in the metabolism to break the bonds.

Why should I use Simply Kind Hearted products?
Basically, high-quality complete feed today meets requirements and is sufficient for the daily feeding of your four-legged friends.
However, the information on the different needs for nutrients, minerals, vitamins and fiber are only generalized average values from which one cannot conclude the individual needs of the cats. As a result, it can never be 100% guaranteed that the cat will get everything it needs with the daily staple food.
This is reinforced by the fact that most of the time, not only a single feed is fed, but a combination of different complete feeds and snacks. In addition, there are always circumstances in the life of every cat, such as age, illness or external influences that trigger stress, through which the demand curves of the individual nutrients can fluctuate.
With our products as supplementary feed, you can generally ensure that these fluctuations are always covered and that the cat is supplied with all the necessary nutrients. In this way, you increase general well-being, vitality and the body's defenses and make an active contribution to keeping your cat healthy. In addition to this general "basic coverage", there are also supplementary feeds with special ingredients that can be used to support the cat in specific situations, e.g. digestion problems, acute or chronic stressful situations, problems with urinary stones or others.

-
What benefits does protein have in Simply Kind Hearted products?
Proteins take on vital tasks in the body. They control the metabolism (this is the umbrella term for all chemical processes in the body in which necessary substances are built up and unnecessary ones are broken down). Proteins are also one of the most important building materials for the body; there is no tissue that is not largely made up of proteins. Since tissue has to be constantly renewed (maintenance metabolism), proteins are permanently implemented in the body. Therefore, they are also used for growth and regeneration (recovery after illness or injury). They are indispensable for kittens, pregnant and nursing cats and also for animals that are recovering from an illness or injury. They are also an important source of calories in cat nutrition.
